Random Thoughts on a Delightful Evening

We sat on the grass of the lawn. All four of us, thinking about the dramatic ways in which the journey of life brings together people from different parts of the world, who would never have planned or even thought of witnessing any such event. In between four of us, there are three different mother tongues, three vastly different cultures, two distinct religion and two distinct nationalities are present. Few months back, if someone would have described such an event to me and asked “what is the probability of your presence in this event in near future?” I would have certainly and instantly answered “Zero”.

Tour Mysore (Day-2)

Before starting, I would like to share the link for the first post related to this tour here .

It took me a long period of time to come back to complete this tale about the journey of the three students from IIIT-Bangalore to the Palace city- Mysore. A lot has been changed since then. One of our colleague Shravan, has already graduated and is working in a semiconductor company. By writing The Day Two I'm attempting to enjoy those moments once again.

I ended my last post of this series when we took the bus from Chamundi Hills back to the city. It was a very nice scene of the city from the bus coming down the hill. Of all the lightening in the city, Mysore Palace was clearly distinguishable. We directly came back to our guest house and started sleeping as we were very tired.

Day 2

Morning in Mysore

The next day we got up early in the morning totally refreshed and ready for the real adventure which was going to be several kilometers outside the city. So we left the room at guest house along with all our stuff as we planned to return directly after this trip. Shravan took us to a nearby temple which he remembered from very long time back, but it seemed like closed maybe due to some construction going on there. Next we reached at a restaurant at about 6.00 am in the morning which was one of the rare ones which was serving at this time in the morning. Idli-sambhar, vada and tea, we refueled our engines fully as the journey was going to be tiring.
We were going to board a bus from the Mysore to Gundlupet. And from there we had to go the temple of Venugopalaswamy betta temple at  Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta (betta is a kannada word meaning hill).

Gundlupet

Gundlupet is a small town in the Chamarajanagar district of  Karnataka. It is about 60 kilometers from the district of Mysore. Bus from Mysore started around 7.30 am and reached at Gudlupet bus stand at about 10.00 am.
Here we came to know that there are only two buses that go to that temple and come back at specific timings. And we had to return also from the same bus within an hour probably. The specific times for the buses were

Various Opinions : Internet and SNS

http://www.sundoginteractive.com/images/uploads/WWWsmall.jpgThere is a lot of buzz these days about the several aspects of the different kinds of effects of internet and specially social media (SNS- Social Networking Services) on our lives.

I thought, it is a good time to put my say on this matter. I've have been reading and experiencing almost same as all of us are feeling in present scenario. Companies like Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter have made entry well inside our personal lives. These sites not only know about our permanent information like mail id, phone number, address but are also aware about our current location and even mood. Let's dwell a little more on this matter today.

Yesterday's Incident :- Microsoft, Google and People

Before starting the discourse about this matter I would like to share yesterday's incident. We had to go to Microsoft Research Bangalore for the meetup related to MOOCS (Massive Open Online Courses). Irony of the matter is that google was the sole reason that we had been able to make it up to the office almost on time. But the reason for discussing this incident is not this. The reason is that I don't know why, but on that day after reaching in the vicinity very near to that area almost each and everyone from whom we asked about the address either misguided us or showed a complete ignorance. Few characters took all the information from us, wasted both their and our time, informing us at the end of the discussion that they had no idea about the address. And the story doesn't end here. To the extent of our
